The Lima Rotary Club welcomes new leadership.
The Lima Rotary Club said a fond goodbye to President Lesley Fry and welcomed President Demi Burden during Monday's Changing of the Guard. "It's been a very humbling experience and I thank each one of you for allowing me to be part of such an incredible organization," said President Lesley. President Demi says she is looking forward to the road ahead, "When I look at this club I see all my favorite people, I see all my favorite friends and I'm just really thankful that I'm going to be your leader this year and I hope I can serve our club well."
Presidents Lesley and Demi also recognized outgoing board members Joel Mengerink, Elizabeth Brown-Ellis and Derek Stemen and welcomed incoming board members Corey Frazer, Craig Kupferberg and Jennifer Mason. Lima Rotary Foundation outgoing President Jennifer Mason welcomed incoming Foundation President Berlin Carroll and recognized outgoing board members Corey Frazer and Craig Kupferberg. Berlin welcomed new Foundation board members Julie Klingler, Michael Sarno and Sam Bassitt.
The Lima Rotary Club's prestigious Avenues of Service award winners were presented to four club members who have excelled at serving the club and our community during the past year:
Rex Perry Club Service Award - Mary Elmquist-Lane
John Rudolph Community Service Award - Joe Watson
Henry Wemmer Vocational Service Award - Keith Horner
Peter Hulsken Youth Service Award - Heather Rutz
Changing of the Guard wrapped up with a riotous roast of President Lesley from Chief Andy Heffner.
