The Lima Rotary Board of Directors met on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Shawnee Country Club.  The following are highlights from that meeting:
 
  • This was Jim Osmon's first meeting at President of the Lima Rotary Club.
  • Programs for the club were discussed with suggestions to have more leaders of industry and entrepreneurs presenting.  also suggested was the Arts in Lima-Allen County with specific suggestions for economic impact, awards and recognition such as an Annual Meeting witht he Arts or an Arts apprecitation luncheon.  Another suggestion was to have the Annual co-hosted meeting with the Chamber to bring in State speakers.
  • A criteria for speakers and the types of programs to host will be developed.
  • Fellowship ideas were also discussed including Happy Dollars, Rotarian Spotlight, Rotary Moment, Regular Fellowship
  • The new conflict resolution and survey planned to give to Rotarians will help gather members opinions for speakers and programs. stating that as a Board, we will explore and support ways to become more respectful of the various views of Rotarians and protential Rotarians.
  • The board will be discussing with the Foundation the Riverwalk and pavilion maintenance to try and come up with a timeframe for maintenance with the city.  The Next Big Project will have monthly updates on progress to report to the club.
  • Karel Oxley was the only resignation.  It was accepted with regret by the board.
