Lima Rotary Foundation Grants
The At the October 22, 2012 meeting of the Lima Rotary Foundation Board, grants were approved as follows:LRF awarded the following grant requests on Monday August 6, 2012. A brief check presentation will be held at the meeting on Monday, August 20, 2012.
The Lima Symphony Orchestra presented a request in the amount of $1,000 to support the Young People’s Concert. Board approved.
Meals ‘til Monday requested $1,400 to provide nutritional kid-friendly weekend meals for 10 elementary students whose primary source of food is the school cafeteria. Board approved.
Barbers Give Bikes requested $2,500 to provide 160 helmets with Rotary logos to accompany the 160 bicycles given to underprivileged children during the holidays. Board approved.
Apollo Career Center requested $2.550 to purchase 10 laptop computers for the computer lab-on-wheels to be used by the students in the ABLE/GED/ESOL program. Board approved.
Representatives of each organization joined the Rotary Club for lunch on Monday November 5, 2012. At that time, each representative received a check applicable to their organization.
