The Lima Rotary Board of Directors met on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Shawnee Country Club.  Below are the highlights from the meeting:

  • Treasurer Cheryl Deitering reported that the list of members with past due accounts keeps getting longer.  Deitering stated that the email invoices could still be the reason for the problem as Rotarians overlook the email message.  Deitering will include an additional letter to those who receive a late notice offering to sending them a hard copy invoice.
  • Bob Ruehl brought up the Annual Fund which is a voluntary donation offered to all members.  Ruehl stated that Rotary International will be looking closely at which clubs are contributing to the Annual Fund and will be deciding who can participate in RI grants based on those contributions.
  • Board members agreed that the Club needs to be more educated on opportunities for service so that there is more participation among the membership.  Ideas were discussed about when and where these educational nugget should be shared.  Suggestions such as a few minutes at a few meetings a year were discussed.
  • Two Resignations were accepted by the board:  Scott Koenig and Christ Pfister
