Rotary Christmas Auction Raises $12,000!
Great gifts, silly games, wonderful music and good fellowship highlighted this year's Rotary Christmas Auction. Chuck Sommers set the mood for the evening with Christmas music played on his saxophone, then Elvis arrived for a medley of his hits as a prelude to the auction of the bust of Elvis. Harold Bischoff was the lucky (?!) Rotarian who will get to keep Elvis in his office for the next year. Jay Begg did a great job auctioning off the dozens of gifts that were donated, and Bill Timmermeister walked off with the evening's prize of a rare bottle of scotch...so if he invites you over for drinks - accept! Overall, we raised $12,000 which will be split between the Salvation Army and the Lima Rotary Foundation. Thanks to everyone who attended and who contributed to make the event a huge success!
