Discover a vibrant tapestry of nearly 200 restaurants, over 70 unique shops, a thriving sports scene, rich cultural experiences and diverse year-round events in Allen County.
Betsy Billingsley is jumping right into her new job as Executive Director of Visit Greater Lima, the organization that markets Allen County to both tourists and residents. Betsy told us that one of the best ways to find out what's happening locally is to check out the community calendar on the Visit Greater Lima website. She says that whether you crave family-friendly fun, a historic journey through time, or simply a chance to relax and recharge, Lima and Allen County have something for everyone. Betsy says there are lots of things to do in our community from concerts at the Greater Lima Region Park & Amphitheater and Civic Center to our outstanding parks, pools and playgrounds to our seven museums. Visit Greater Lima advertises Allen County as a destination for tourism and conventions to communities within a 3-4 hour drive of Lima. If you are considering bringing a convention, family reunion or other event to Lima, Visit Greater Lima can help you get quotes and packages from local hotels and meeting spaces. She says that all of Allen County's tourism numbers were up last year compared to the previous year, fueled, in part, by people coming to town for the eclipse in April.
