The Scoop - November 18, 2013

Jeff Tracy operated outside the box with Fellowship today. He used the football model and had each table trade a member to another table - in order to get more people meeting new members.

 

Esther Baldridge ran the meeting today - and mentioned that the Rotary International has requested $20 from each Rotarian to help the recent disaster in the Philippines. The bucket was passed around - and quickly raised $770 !!

 

Our speaker was Dr. William Tucker, who gave us an update on the St. Rita's Emergency remodel and new Stroke Center. There is a need for a special Stroke unit in our community - as there are more than 5 million stroke related ER visits each year in the US. It is also the leading cause of disability in america, and caring for those patients costs over $58 billion (with a B) annually. The need for rapid response is especially critical regarding a stroke - as time lost is brain lost…
