Collaboration leads to local economic development success.
Regional Growth Partnership handles economic development for Northwest Ohio through the state's JobsOhio program. Senior Project Manager, John Recker told Lima Rotarians that collaboration is the key to economic development success. Recker says the Allen Economic Development Group collaborates well with the RGP, the local governments and the private sector to promote business growth and that's why we've seen a major transformation in economic development in the last several years. In the last year, RGP has help provide incentives for expansions at Nelson Packaging, Bob Evans Foods, K&M Tire and Eagle Rail/Chemtrade. RGP has also assited with expansions at Diamond Manufacturing, Charles River laboratories and AMS Uniforms, and is working on 8 projects now in development. He says the RGP's job is to bring state resources to the local level and support businesses.
