The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce has been advocating for local businesses since 1887.
The mission of the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce is to serve, represent, & enhance business growth & success. President/CEO Josh Unterbrink told us that the Chamber has more than 900 members, and with the majority of the businesses having 10 employees or fewer, the Chamber is truly focused on small business. Josh told us that the Chamber offers a lot to its members and the community. "When you think about the Chamber, we're more than just the people. we're the programs and events that we provide, we are the affinity partners that we partner with to save our members a lot of money, not to mention our committees and groups." The Chamber's signature events include the annual breakfast, the awards gala and the community's longest-running golf outing. Programs included under the Chamber Foundation umbrella are Activate Allen County, Allen Lima Leadership, the Potts Center and the Hub. A new program the Chamber is offering is AI Hub, which helps businesses learn how to effectively use AI. Josh told us that with over 52 events per year, the Chamber has something for everyone at every stage of their career. "You get what you put in. If you come to networking events, if you exchange business cards and you participate, your business will grow, your career will grow, so we encourage you to find an event, find a program that means a lot to you and mark your calendar for these upcoming events."
Josh wrapped up his presentation by conducting a trivia contest centering around Chamber and Allen County history. The winning table received scratch-off lottery tickets. Congratulations to Jason, Julie, Bob, Joe and Dan!
