Mike Blickenstaff, Vice President of Operations for Guardian Lima Ethanol Plant spoke about the new Lima Ethanol Plant, making it clear that the previous plant that failed to open operations, was totally different and this new operation is a new era of Ethanol business in Lima.

Rotarians bringing guests included Cheryl Dietering, who introduced her father Ron Lawson of Las Vegas.
Visiting rotarian, Trey Waldron, was a guest of the club.
Make-ups included Bob Ruehl at the Delphos Rotary Club
Jon Rockhold opened the meeting with a Prayer while song leader, Jim Chiles led a acapella rendition of "O Beautiful" followed by Fellowship led by Sam Bassett who celebrated Rotarian July birthdays Tim Windau, Bill Timmermeister, Janice Quatman, Paul Nardini, Bill Power, Mike Rinehart, Jeff Tracey, Jay Wenger, and Walt Kinsey.
Fred Seelinbinder gave a club Paul Harris report and invited Rotarians to participate in the program and become Paul Harris Fellows. Seelinbinder reported last year, Lima Rotary raised $20,900.00 and this year's goal is $20,700.00.
The speaker, Mike Blickenstaff, Vice President of Operations for Guardian Lima Ethanol Plant was introduced by Micki Vollmer.
Mike has had a long career in ethanol production-worked in plants in Tennesse, Jamaica,and Southwest Kansas.
The plant went through a total redesign as the on premise equipment was hooked up improperly.
This included taking apart and re-installing most of the equipment with the end result being a state of the art facility.
The Lima facility produces the most ethanol per bushel of corn in the united states , the least residual starch in the by product and uses less water than a 9-hole golf course.--100 percent recycled. The plant uses 20 million bushels of corn per year to produce 55 million gallons of ethanol. The corn is purchased from local farms and only 2 percent of the total corn production in the united states is used to produce ethanol. The corporate headquarters is located in Jainesvile, Wisconsin and presently produces ethanol in eight facilities.
